Capacity Building Committee

A Capacity Building Committee shall be established and act under the overall direction of the Governing Council, with administrative support provided by the Secretariat. The mandate of the Committee shall be to advise the Governing Council on the strategies and priorities in capacity building activities.

Mediation Fund

A Mediation Fund may be established to promote and encourage the use of mediation and enhance capacity building. The Fund shall be composed of donations received and be managed in accordance with the financial regulations or rules adopted by the Governing Council.

Training

Article 5 of the IOMed Convention provides that to implement its purposes and objectives, the IOMed shall have the function to organize international, regional, national and local forums and conferences on mediation, building a platform for communication and information sharing.

 

Article 42 provides that the Secretariat may propose and implement, with the approval of the Governing Council, a mediation fellowship program for training and capacity building of young professionals and diplomats.

Exchanges & Cooperation

Article 5 of the IOMed Convention provides that to implement its purposes and objectives, the IOMed shall have the function to cooperate and communicate with other international organizations and dispute resolution agencies.
